• strengths and weaknesses identified through your performance; and
• study recommendations generated from that information.

C. Essays and other content

If you use our Section B or written-feedback services, we may process:

• essays;
• plans or written responses;
• feedback provided to you;
• marking or assessment information; and
• correspondence relating to your submission.

D. Purchase information

• plan purchased;
• purchase date;
• amount paid;
• transaction or order identifiers;
• billing information; and
• refund information.

Our payment provider may process your payment-card details. Paribus does not normally need to receive or store your complete card number.

E. Score Guarantee information

If you make a claim under the 27+ Score Guarantee, we may collect:

• your official LNAT Section A score;
• your LNAT test date;
• your Paribus account details;
• evidence contained in or associated with your official results email;
• the name to which that result was issued;
• information required to verify your eligibility, including course-completion and practice-test recency records;
• your claim declaration; and
• records of the decision and any refund.

We ask you not to provide information from your results correspondence that is unnecessary for us to verify your claim.

F. Competition and form submissions

Where you enter a Paribus competition, waiting list or other form, we may collect information such as:

• your name;
• email address;
• school or educational institution;
• year of education;
• competition entry;
• uploaded documents; and
• other information requested on the relevant form.

G. Communications

If you contact us, we may retain:

• your message;
• our response;
• support correspondence; and
• information needed to resolve your enquiry.

H. Technical and usage information

When you use our website or platform, we may collect information such as:

• IP address;
• browser and device type;
• operating system;
• approximate location derived from technical information;
• login timestamps;

Providing the Paribus service

Where necessary, we do this because it is required to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

• maintain platform performance;
• improve educational recommendations; and
• develop our services.

Where we use identifiable personal information for these purposes, we rely on our legitimate interests where appropriate and consider the rights and interests of our users, particularly users under 18. Where possible, we use aggregated or anonymised information.

Score Guarantee claims

We process official-result and account information, including completion and practice-test recency records, to determine whether the contractual conditions of the Paribus 27+ Score Guarantee have been met and to process any resulting refund. This processing is necessary to administer the guarantee and perform our contract with you.

Legal and regulatory obligations

We may process information where necessary to:

• comply with tax, accounting or other legal requirements;
• establish or defend legal claims;
• respond to lawful requests from authorities; or
• meet our data-protection and consumer-law obligations.

Marketing

Where permitted, we may send information about Paribus, launch updates, study resources, offers or related services.

Where consent is required, we will ask for it separately. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us at admin@paribus.uk. Unsubscribing from marketing will not stop essential account or service messages.

4. Performance analytics and recommendations

Paribus uses your practice activity to provide analytics and study recommendations. For example, the platform may identify weaker question types from your previous answers and recommend that you complete related targeted practice.

These tools are intended to support your studying. We do not use your Paribus performance data to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you, and Paribus does not make university admissions decisions.

5. Users under 18

Many LNAT candidates may be under 18, and we recognise that younger users’ personal information deserves particular protection.

When processing information relating to users under 18, we aim to:

• collect only information reasonably needed to provide the service;
• use privacy-protective settings by default;
• explain our practices clearly;
• avoid unnecessary sharing;
• avoid behavioural advertising based on children’s personal information;
• consider age and developmental needs when designing features;
• apply appropriate security safeguards; and
• take particular care before introducing new uses of children’s information.

Paribus is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact admin@paribus.uk.

6. Who we share information with

We may share personal information with organisations that help us operate Paribus, including:

• website and cloud-hosting providers;
• database and authentication providers;
• payment processors;
• email and communications providers;
• customer-support systems;
• analytics and security providers;
• professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers; and
• authorities where disclosure is required by law.

These organisations receive only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we require appropriate data-protection arrangements.

We do not sell users’ personal information. We do not provide student performance data to universities for admissions purposes unless you specifically ask us to do so or we are legally required to make a disclosure.

7. International transfers

Some providers that support Paribus may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps required by applicable data-protection law to protect it. Depending on the destination and provider, these measures may include:

• UK adequacy regulations;
• approved contractual safeguards;
• the UK International Data Transfer Agreement;
• the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses; or
• another lawful transfer mechanism.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal obligations. Our normal approach is:

• Account information: retained while your account remains active and normally for up to 24 months afterwards, unless a longer period is needed for a legal or operational reason.
• Practice and performance data: normally retained for the duration of your account and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you request earlier deletion where the right to deletion applies. We may retain anonymised statistical information indefinitely.
• Essay submissions and feedback: normally retained while your account is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless a shorter or longer period is reasonably required.
• Transaction and refund records: retained for the period required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal purposes, which may be up to six years or longer where legally necessary.
• Score Guarantee evidence: the original results email or equivalent verification material will normally be deleted within 90 days after the claim has been finally resolved, unless it is reasonably required for an ongoing dispute or investigation. We may retain a limited record of the claim, score, decision and refund for longer where needed for contractual, fraud-prevention, accounting or legal purposes.
• Support correspondence: normally retained for up to 24 months after the matter is resolved, subject to legitimate legal or operational requirements.
• Marketing information: retained until you unsubscribe or we otherwise cease using it, although we may keep a minimal suppression record so that we know not to contact you again.

We periodically review information that we hold and delete or anonymise information that is no longer needed.

9. Score Guarantee verification

To claim under the 27+ Score Guarantee, you may be required to forward the official results email through which you received your LNAT score.

We use this information only for legitimate purposes connected with:

• verifying that an official result was issued;
• verifying the candidate’s identity;
• checking the Section A score;
• checking eligibility for the guarantee, including course completion and the 21-day practice-test recency requirement;
• preventing fraudulent claims; and
• administering the refund.

We do not use an individual claimant’s LNAT score for marketing or publish it without permission.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

Paribus may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies for purposes including:

• keeping you signed in;
• remembering settings;
• securing the platform;
• understanding whether the site is working correctly;
• measuring use of the platform; and
• improving functionality.

Some technologies are necessary for the service to work. Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, we will ask for it before using them. Where applicable law permits particular limited technologies without consent, we will still provide appropriate information about their use.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. These may include access controls, authentication measures, encrypted communications, secure hosting, monitoring and restricted staff access.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You should therefore keep your password confidential and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
